I’m very happy to participate in this project. In the process, I learned a lot of new programming technologies. I can also use these technologies to help young people. The process makes me very happy.

I learned a lot at my summer experience. I was able to see my contributions to a real-world project and learn a new programming language. Working together and making sure everyone’s code was compatible was also an important skill that I slowly acquired.

Teaching in a new environment was very eye-opening for me. I realized that in addition to the content itself, I needed to consider cross-cultural differences, collaboration, and mindset in computer science education.

The whole experience was more than I could hope for. I hope to improve upon my skills and someday comeback and help out with the project again. I was inspired by the passion from the team and will carry on this attitude with a desire to do meaningful things as I move on to college.

I have learned to solve problems independently. It’s my hope to have so much contact working together with overseas and local interns.

In the past two years, I have experienced how God has created something from nothing, and made that grow in Project C. He is that wonderful counselor. I’m thankful.

On June 29, after our “pizza celebration” for the mentors, Teacher Fu announced that our program has completed. I saw everyone sat still and keep quiet just for a moment, showing reluctance to leave. That’s the moment when the connection among us mentors began.

Being able to give in this mentoring program is indeed a new learning experience. It’s precious for me to have this opportunity after retirement to be on the frontline with young people, to understand them and know their struggles and challenges, and to share my life story with them. I’m thankful to have this part of my life journey with them.
